Ventica® System is being used in asthma prevention trial INSTAR, a multicenter study investigating the benefit of cortisone treatment given for the first exacerbation for young children with high asthma risk. During the study, Ventica System will be used in multiple time-points, both acute and convalescent phases.
Primary investigators, Professor Henrik Døllner and Dr. Tuomas Jartti, state about the study aims: “Primarily, we want to demonstrate that oral dexamethasone treatment prevents asthma development in the first-time wheezing high-risk children. Secondarily, we want to evaluate its efficacy in multiple outcomes, including pulmonary function.”
The INSTAR study is carried out by seven university hospitals in Nordic countries.
